‘Sympoiesis’

Leben ist chaotisch. Es ist mehrdimensional. Es hat mit Komplexität zu tun. Und mit Netzwerken. Es umfasst alles. Menschliches und Nicht-Menschliches. Biologische Systeme, soziale und technische. Es hängt von Verbundenheit ab. Und es verbindet durch Abhängigkeiten.
Auf diesem Grundverständnis aufbauend schlägt Donna Haraway in Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene (2016) anstelle von Autopoiesis einen alternativen Begriff vor, der für dieses chaotische Potential einstehen könnte:
Sympoiesis is a simple word; it means «making-with.» Nothing makes itself; nothing is really autopoietic or self-organizing. In the words of the Inupiat computer «world game,» earthlings are never alone. That is the radical implication of sympoiesis. Sympoiesis is a word proper to complex, dynamic, responsive, situated, historical systems. It is a word for worlding-with, in company. Sympoiesis enfolds autopoiesis and generatively unfurls and extends it.
